Anja Klinkert
My full name is Anja Karen Evelyn Klinkert. I was born and raised until aged almost 16 years in what was then West Germany. I have been in New Zealand since 1982 and in Dunedin since 1984. I have a varied work history outside of the law, including unpaid volunteer work, working as a linguist and bone carving. Since 1996 I have been working as a lawyer, firstly in practice as a barrister working mainly at the District and Family Courts in both civil and criminal litigation, then as a staff solicitor and later partner at Kirkland Lawyers. I started out in my own business in 2002 following the dissolution of the Kirkland Lawyers' partnership.
I enjoy being in business in Dunedin in particular due to the friendly and co-operative work environment. I am part of a great team at Anja Klinkert Lawyers, which includes a couple of four legged office juniors. I enjoy a varied practice of the law that sees me in daily contact with our clients presenting me with both professional and academic challenges as well as the opportunity to grow on a personal level. I love living in Dunedin.
